October Update

We’ve been working on lots of updates recently to make pipdig WordPress themes even better! We want to bring you the latest features which make using our themes easier and more effective. So, what have we been working on this month? Keep readin’…

New page template – Image Gallery Archives

All of our themes have included a text based Archives template for many years now. Whilst it works great for allowing readers to browse older posts, it doesn’t work so well if your content is image focussed. So we’ve updated all themes with a shiny new “Archives with Images” template. You can view the results on this page of the Etoile theme’s preview.

New options to show/hide widgets on mobile

Sometimes you might want to show/hide a specific widget on mobile. Well, now you can! We’ve created some extra guidance on how to achieve this on this page of our support site.

New widget sections between blog posts

In some of our themes, we created spaces between your posts on the homepage to display widgets, but now we’ve extended this to every theme. You can add Instagram, Pinterest, Adsense… basically any of our widgets to your homepage to personalise your site even more.

New “Read More” button for Profile Photo widget

We know lots of people are using the Profile Photo widget, so we’ve added a little update so you can easily link to your ‘About’ page or ‘Contact’ page, or any other page you like!

Now even easier to display Shopr products

As you may know, we have our own Shopr plugin which allows you to create shoppable widgets and a shop page using any link. We’ve updated this to make it even easier to use by including a dropdown selection within posts. So, you can pick which collection you want to display without having to copy and paste the shortcode.

Theme License Reminder

You may have seen a notification on your dashboard asking for your theme license key. Don’t panic! You can read more about this feature in last month’s update :)

What’s next?

Next month (November) is the planned launch date for WordPress 5.0, which includes the new post editor. Be sure to check out our blog post on the new editor and what this means for your site. We have some new post editing blocks in the works which we will release around the same time, so watch this space!
